Tried the email link it doesn’t work. Contact me I am originally from North Dakota and live in Mendoza Argentina. There will be a place to stay a few days and a good asado waiting for you if you would like. You will like the hospitality in Mendoza. I am also interested in the South American route you are taking as I know roads from Ecuador South.

Hi guys and best of luck on your trip!! I will follow your journey. Quick question for you all, I saw in the Grand Forks Herald today that you grew up on a farm around Starkweather, but I was wondering if you were from the Berg family that also purchased in 1988 the large home just across the street (west) from the Starkweather school ?

    August 6, 2011
    • My uncle Robert and his wife Mary Beth purchased that house many years ago. Recently they sold it to one of our cousins, Chris Berg, and his young family.

  15. Brothers Berg,
Great to finally have time to peruse your blog and delighted to find we have some common threads besides our faith. Although I was born in San Francisco and raised in Fort Bragg, CA where I met you and rode short time with you, we lived in Minneapolis area for 17 years and my dad’s family is from Adams, ND ( 1 hour north of Grand Forks). My prayer is that you will all safely accomplish all the goals and angels will guide you and protect you all along the way.
    Yours in Christ,

Hello Nathn, Isaiah and David. I was so amazed and proud when your parents told me about your adventourous and unique journey, you should be proud of yourselves. This trip will teach you so many things about life and about the world, learn from every moment. I wish I could join you and enjoy those wonderful landscapes and meet the wonderful people you are running into everyday on your route Bound South, maybe in the future we could all do a trip accross Europe for a similar cause. Ever since I saw a wonderful movie about a motorcycle trip from Argentina to Venezuela by a young doctor student I have been inspired to do such a thing, so through you I will somehow live this dream. Wish you all the best and will be following your journey.

    Best wishes,

    Frederick Tylki

    • Frederick, if you are still up for it in a few years we will all bike across Europe together as brothers. Much love from the Baja.

I just found your blog on WordPress, congratulations on being Freshly Pressed, and good luck for your amazing journey.

Good luck, let me know if you’re going to be passing through Belize on your trip.

Looked up your site when we received your Mom and Dad’s Christmas letter! The pictures you have posted on Flicker are incredibly, totally amazing! Haven’t had a chance to go through them all, but you must be having the trip of a lifetime. As a parent, I’m sure Jim and Elizabeth anxiously wait your every contact and post, and though your trip had receded to the back of my mind, it’s not front and center again and we will be praying for your safety on this journey too. What character, courage and determination you all have — and drawing on each other’s strengths to make it a journey that will cement your brotherhood forever!

    Nathan-

My name is Kristin and I am the new coordinator at the Harwood Y. Your story has been floating around the Y and I finally heard about what you boys are doing. I printed off your bios, and what you guys are doing, and shared it with my Harwood kids. They all say hi, and are very excited to hear about what you are doing.

I am trying to put together some lessons about your trip, so I’d love an email back with info about your trip. The kids came up with a lot of questions, and would love to hear from you.

    Bike safely!

I’ve missed hearing from you guys! Looking at your photos, I wonder how in the world did your parents manage the farm and household without the help of the three of you while you were away. You young men are such an inspiration. Looking forward to continued updates! All the best to you and your family.
